My Equator

The world in your classroom

MyEquator.net

EQUATOR is an international learning platform where children tell each other in short videos about how they look at the world and think about poverty, equality, peace or the climate. EQUATOR creates contacts and school ties between North and South. By bringing North and South closer together, bridges are built between cultures. The organization promotes respect, tolerance and world citizenship. With modern teaching tools, EQUATOR wants to improve education on the other side of the equator. The goal behind this is to tackle stereotypes and strengthen the voice of children because they are the leaders of tomorrow.

Sustainable Development Goals

EQUATOR is committed to the SDGs, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: 17 goals to make the world a better place!

In 2015 a set of goals were adopted by several countries to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years.

Aruba

With the students of the Juliana School, we made a video about language. In Aruba they speak several languages: Dutch, English, Spanish and Papiamento. The lessons at school are also taught in all these languages. In the video, the students talk about growing up in a multilingual environment and what advantages and disadvantages they experience. We put the focus on SDG 4: quality education.
