Baila bo (hi)storia (translated: dance your (hi)story), is a project in which young people discover their own family history and that of Aruba in collaboration with arts professionals. Through various workshops in artistic disciplines such as film, music, dance and fashion, participants will explore. What missing pieces of history are not mentioned in textbooks? During the project there will also be a conversation about how Aruba's slavery past has affected the participants. How can we rewrite this together and transfer it to modern times through art so that future generations can connect with their heritage? The result? A presentation of the final product at an amazing outdoor venue for an audience and a music video.
